What We Do

Adelphos-USA was founded to come alongside Adelphos-Chile and their missionaries as “brothers, companions in labour, and fellowsoldiers” and to serve local churches in the USA by being their messengers and ministering on their behalf.

"...Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants."

Who We Are

Adelphos-USA is led by Director Shawn Haynie. The organization has a board that serves as the legal head and also counsels Shawn in his decisions. Currently the mission has one family on the field serving with our Adelphos-Chile team in Ciudad del Este, Paraguay.

Our Director

Shawn Haynie

After 10 years of ministering in Christian School settings, Shawn and Tina were called into missionary work through the leadership of their local church. They were led to the country of Chile where they served in church planting and theological education. It was through Shawn’s involvement at the Bible College in Santiago that they were acquainted with the work of Adelphos, the first Chilean Fundamental Mission Agency.

In 2006, Shawn and Tina were led away from Chile, but they always believed God would use their experience in some way in the future.

After 10 years of serving again in Christian School ministry, God used a series of circumstances and the leadership of their local church to allow them to form a partnership with Adelphos-Chile and serve once again in a missionary capacity.

Our Missionary

Jared and Kathleen Loucks

Jared grew up in Kennewick, Washington attending Grace Baptist Church and at the age of five received Christ’s free gift of salvation. He was baptized and joined the local body at Grace. Through much of his youth he wrestled with what God would do with his life, but at the age of 20, God placed foreign missions on his heart and mind with a focus on Paraguay.

Kathleen was also raised in a home that sought faithfulness in the local church! She came to the understanding that Jesus did not have grandchildren and that she needed to be adopted into His family at the age of 14. She then followed that with baptism and has since then faithfully sought the Lord into ministry for her King.

The couple met at Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, Iowa, and were married shortly after graduating in 2010. Their heart has always been for full-time service while God has worked out his perfect plan in their lives. They, along with their 5 children, are excited about the adventure God has in store for them! They invite you to join in the journey as they follow God’s leading to Paraguay!
